Was that a song title? Can’t remember, but if it wasn’t, it should have been … back in the 70s some time :)
It’s been a sad-looking weekend actually. Starting with a trip to the dentist which didn’t reduce the pain (did he even know what he was doing? Kept saying “I’m not hurting you” even with the patient twitching and moaning, was it his nerve that was messed with? No.) Then there was rain and cool temperatures all that day and the next, and today is no better. Oh well.

As in taken over. It seems the governments all over are going nuts! The following mails are from Jon Benson initially and George Stavrou next, pertaining to the USA, but I just heard something similar from a friend in Norway - which isn’t even a member of the EU, and they are just as bad!  So please, please take a little time to read this and go to the links and sites and read more. Take action, get engaged in this because I really am fed up with this type of thinking.

Green Tea - again

I haven’t posted in a while, sorry guys :) it’s been crazy around here.  Between a totally certifiable landlord and his anticks, and the preparations for our moving house in 44 days, two surprise blizzards after we switched to summer tires … phew!

Finally, winter seems to be giving up, and it’s not just springy as far as temperatures go, it’s downright warm! From barely 0ºC to all of a sudden 20ºC in the north and in the shade (almost 40ºC at the south side of the house in the sun) … the transition is a little hard to take. We need to acclimatize.

It’s true. A poll done in 2006 revealed that most people love the holidays but “hate” the after-effects.

The “post-holiday blues.”

Christmas

Easter

Easter just came and went. And now I really “get” the love/hate thing.

You?

The love is obvious. It’s a wonderful time of the year.

The ‘hate’ is all about food and bodyfat gains according to this survey.

Face it: we pig out when the calendar tells us to.

This makes us more depressed. We miss our relatives even more because of it.

And most of us get fatter– not a good combination, is it?

With Christmas and Thanksgiving it’s ham, turkey and dressing, and desserts.

With Easter it’s chocolate. At least it was for me.

Arrested for selling vitamin C ???

Yes, it’s true…

A woman was arrested a few years back for selling Vitamin C in Europe.

I know, it sounds absurd, but that’s because the EU follows Codex guide- lines which make it illegal to sell Vitamin C over a certain dosage.

What’s crazy is that vitamin C has been proven in thousands of studies to be not only safe, but essntial to good health.

Anyway, the reason I’m email you today is because here in the US we are heading down a very dangerous and similar path.

Which is worse do you think? As far as placement of bodyfat I mean. Butt? Nah, no important organs there. Legs and arms, same thing. Now how about the back? Not too bad either. Chest … well, the chest fat is usually on the outside of the rib cage. All this fat is unsightly, for sure. Not healthy either, because it gives you an extra load to carry and that puts an added strain on your heart. But … I had another e-mail today :) from Mike Geary this time. Eat Fats - but the good kind

I woke up to another interresting e-mail today, and I want to share it with you for a couple of reasons.

There isn’t a day without my hearing someone saying they have found a low fat this or a low fat that. I found wafers with cream that boasted “low fat” and “sugar free” all in one. They were, however filled with Splenda and other chemicals! Many “light” products have hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils in them, as well as other things that make me want to run as fast as I can in the opposite direction. Some ethnic and “healthy” products are filled with MSG (not always named in full, you’d have to know what’s hidden behind some of the other names on the list).
